In Brief: FpML Co-Head Lynn Steps Down Brian Lynn, co-head of the Financial Products Markup Language (FpML) standards committee, has stepped down to join a software company Gem Soup that will develop FpML-based trading tools. He has also left his position as vice president of e-trading at JP MorganChase. FpML has not yet named a replacement for Lynn, but is actively seeking candidates. His move follows the departure from FpML of another senior executive, Guy Gurden, who is now at SwapsWire. In Brief: Firms Use Trace Datawise for ISO 15022 Conversion Delaware International Advisers Ltd. and Gestitres of France have both gone live with Trace Datawises EasyISO 15022, which carries guarantees of compliance of the messaging protocols XML standards, due for introduction next year. The deployment of EasyISO 15022 will allow both organizations to comply with the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications (Swift) move to the new standard from the old ISO 7775 messaging standard, ahead of the deadline. Delaware International is a U.S. money management firm; Gestitres is a Paris-based subcontractor that manages back-office operations on behalf of participants in the French and international securities markets. In Brief: Prebon Yamane Joins Swapswire Network Interdealer broker Prebon Yamane has joined the Swapswire network, allowing it to offer straight-through-processing of interest-rate derivatives. Prebon is the second institutional broker to join the network; ICAP is already participating. By joining, Prebon Yamane will be able to confirm swaps trades electronically for bank participants. SwapsWire is a consortium of 23 bank dealers in interest-rate swaps. It is currently being used by 14 banks and brokers. |
