In Brief: CLSA Joins Researchsummary.com for Research Distribution

CLSA Ltd., a Hong Kong-based brokerage and investment bank, has joined the Researchsummary.com research portal. The firm will use Researchsummary’s distribution system to supply pdf- and RIXML-based research services. RIXML, the Research Information exchange Markup Language, allows firms to offer custom research to their clients through the use of intelligent tags and meta data.

In Brief: OASIS Members Tibco, Webmethods, Others Tackle Digital Signatures

Members of the OASIS standards consortium have formed a technical committee to develop open XML protocols for digital signature and cryptographic time-stamping services operating in a Web Services environment. The group includes Tibco and Webmethods, both with substantial financial services client bases, as well as Entrust, IONA, NIST and Verisign. Time-stamping may have significant applications in the transaction processing areas of the investment cycle.

In Brief: Helsinki Mulls Adoption of MDDL

The Helsinki Stock Exchange could become the first to adopt the market data definition language (MDDL) standard for management of its financial information. The exchange has been considering the use of MDDL in order to enable its data for XML for the past 18 months. According to FISD (overseer of MDDL) chief technologist James Hartley, the standard is now ready for use, although it has yet to be adopted commercially.
