19 July 2002: FinancialContent Unveils Studio3.0 for Content Mgmt

FinancialContent Inc., a San Francisco-based content aggregator, has released version 3.0 of its XML-based Studio content management solution. Earlier versions are currently used by some 120 clients worldwide.

Studio is aimed at businesses seeking to deploy financial data and tools into their websites, corporate intranets, and online applications. The new version provides a single point of access to manage the deployment of multiple financial channels.

The new platform handles private-label templating, deployment tracking and versioning, SSL session encryption and theft prevention. Clients can private-label their deployments by embedding HTML that matches the ‘look and feel’ of their web-sites.

Studio 3.0 uses a Java-based XSLT engine to render both the private-label web pages and standalone content modules, as well as outputs into WAP and other flavors of XML. PDF and PostScript outputs are also available for quick drag and drop publishing of stock market data and charts into magazines, newspapers, and other print media.

“With Studio 3.0, we have built scalability into the application by enabling our clients to manage their deployments across multiple websites,” said Wing Yu, CEO of FinancialContent. “For example, a media company with numerous print and television affiliates would benefit from being able to manage its entire network from a single point of access.”

“Unlike our competitors, we do not lock down our deployments; clients that want to make changes to their original deployment can do so at any time,” added Gregg Fidan, VP of Product Development. “With the release of the latest generation of our platform, our company continues to profoundly alter the way that financial content is perceived, deployed and used by businesses.”
