14 June 2002: Mercator Partners with BEA in STP, XML Initiative

Mercator Software and BEA Systems will jointly market each other’s integration products into a number of vertical sectors including financial services. Among the products to be marketed under the arrangement are Mercator GSS for GSTPA, Mercator GSS for Swift ISO 15022 and Mercator Straight Through Processing Solutions for Financial Services.

Under the arrangement, announced last week, the two companies will integrate Mercator Solutions, including EDI and XML technology, with BEA WebLogic Integration. The companies hope to capitalize on a global STP solutions marketplace that Tower Group has estimated at around $19 billion in the financial services area.

Mercator and BEA believe their products are complementary. Mercator Solutions provide data transformation, routing and integration for support of STP for financial transactions, as well as EDI and XML integration.  Mercator GSS provides connectivity to the GSTPA’s Transaction Flow Manager and to Omgeo’s Central Trade Manager.

BEA WebLogic is an integrated architecture for messaging, business-to-business integration and business process management.
