21 May 2002: FRI to Release .Net System for Repo and Securities Lending FRI Corporation, an investment management solutions company, is to release a global, real-time, repo and securities lending solution based on Microsoft’s .Net platform. The company plans to unveil the system, RSL.Net, at this years International Securities Lending Association annual conference. RSL.Net is a multi-currency, multi-lingual and multi-entity system that can handle global equity and fixed-income securities. The software covers repos, securities lending, portfolio risk, cash and position management, mark-to-market, and data import/export. Domenic Santini, FRI's chief technology officer, says, "FRI chose to base RSL.Net on Microsoft's .Net platform for several reasons. The most significant reason is the integration capabilities that .Net offers through the use of XML Web services. The .Net platform allows applications to share data over the Internet, or an Intranet, regardless of operating system or programming language.” |
