15 Feb 2002: OneSource Integrates Business Information with XML

OneSource Information Services has incorporated XML web services into its Business Browser product for the delivery of business and financial information.

The product has been built on the Microsoft .NET XML framework, and OneSource believes that using XML will enable the company to deliver increased integration, productivity and scalability. Benefits for clients will include the ability to more easily integrate its business intelligence into their customer relationship management (CRM) software, intranet applications and enterprise information portals (EIP).

The Business Browser product line provides corporate and industry information, including company profiles, news, business and trade articles, research reports, executive profiles, industry intelligence and financial data. It is aimed at finance and management professionals.

Dan Schimmel, president and chief executive officer of OneSource, says, “By developing our products to support XML Web services, I believe our customers will realize increased flexibility in how they integrate business intelligence into their applications.

"This integration allows updates on everything from a single data item to an entire report with the power to exploit, manage and display the content exactly where required within a business application."

Available on the Internet the Business Browser product line includes the US Business Browser, Global Business Browser, UK Business Browser, and European Business Browser products, and the AppLink Application Programming Interface (API).
